GUIDE
TV setup guide
Set up the Masjid View screen in about 30 minutes. Choose the way that suits your TV, then pair the screen with a 6-digit code from the AJK panel.
Before you start: connect the TV to the masjid WiFi that stays on all day (not a phone hotspot), and make sure the date, time and Kuala Lumpur time zone (GMT+8) are correct.
Android smart TV / Google TV
- On the TV, open Google Play. Search for and install a web browser app.
- Open the browser and type the address https://masjidview.my/tv
- If the browser has a start page or home page setting, set it to the same address.
- If the browser can open by itself when the TV is switched on (start on boot or kiosk mode), turn that on so the screen comes back after a power cut.
- In the TV settings, turn off the screen saver and sleep mode so the screen stays on.
Ordinary TV + Android TV box
- Plug the Android TV box into the TV's HDMI port and connect the box to WiFi.
- Choose the right HDMI input with the TV remote.
- On the box, follow the same steps as for the Android smart TV above.
- Check the box's settings (Display or Power) so it does not go to sleep.
Laptop over HDMI
- Connect the laptop to the TV with an HDMI cable and choose the HDMI input on the TV.
- Open a web browser and go to https://masjidview.my/tv
- Press F11 (or choose Full screen in the browser menu) so the page fills the TV.
- In the power settings, set the laptop never to sleep and never to turn the screen off.
- Keep the charger plugged in.
Pair the screen with the 6-digit code
- Once masjidview.my/tv is open, the TV shows a 6-digit code and a QR code.
- On your phone, sign in at masjidview.my/admin and open Screens, then Add screen.
- Enter the code (or scan the QR code) and give the screen a name, for example Main hall.
- Within a few seconds the TV shows your masjid's prayer times and announcements.
- The code expires after 10 minutes. The TV shows a new code by itself.
If something goes wrong
- The WiFi drops
- Prayer times keep showing because they are stored on the TV. New announcements appear again when the connection is back.
- The time or clock is wrong
- Make sure the device's time zone is Kuala Lumpur (GMT+8) and the date is right. The screen corrects small differences itself, but a wrong time zone confuses it.
- The screen turns off or goes to sleep
- Turn off the screen saver, sleep mode and auto power off in the TV, box or laptop settings.
- The pairing code is not accepted
- Codes expire after 10 minutes. Reload the page on the TV to get a new code, then try again.
- The TV shows the pairing code again
- That screen was removed in the AJK panel. Pair it again with a new code.
