Frequently asked questions
Is Masjid View really free?
Yes. There are no registration fees, subscriptions or hidden charges for masjids and suraus.
What kind of TV can I use?
Any TV with a modern web browser: an Android smart TV or Google TV, an ordinary TV with an Android TV box, or a laptop connected to the TV by HDMI.
Do I need to download an app?
There is no Masjid View app to install. Masjid View runs in a web browser: download and open any web browser app on the TV, then go to masjidview.my/tv.
Where do the prayer times come from?
They are based on JAKIM e-Solat data for your masjid's zone. You can check today's times while you register.
Does it need internet all the time?
No. Internet is needed to update announcements. Prayer times are stored on the TV, so the screen keeps working if the WiFi drops.
Can I change the iqamah minutes?
Yes. Administrators set the iqamah minutes for each prayer, and the length of the Friday khutbah.
How many people can manage one masjid?
Two administrators with the same access. The first administrator invites the second by e-mail. Each account can manage only one masjid. When the AJK changes, an administrator can remove and invite again, or contact us.
Can I use more than one TV?
Yes. Each screen is set up with its own code and can use a different theme and layout.
Can a small surau use it too?
Yes. Masjid View suits large masjids and small suraus alike.
How is personal data protected?
We keep only what is needed to run the display. Death notices are deleted automatically. Read the Privacy Notice for details.
